Rough Romance

The Rough Romance Tour 2025 makes a stop in KC

Those familiar with the Green Guitar Folk House know that both The Rough & Tumble and Flagship Romance have played our humble stage in the past, the former in 2022, and the latter most recently in August 2023.

They are fan favorites, and they always blow us away!

Needless to say, when they suggested a combined evening of both headliners, we were on board!

The two duos have a been friends for many years, crossing paths time and again at regional folk festivals. In January 2024 they kicked off their first ever “Rough Romance Tour” in Florida. It was such a big hit, they are bringing it to the Midwest in summer 2025!

The Rough Romance Tour featuring The Rough & Tumble and Flagship Romance hits the Green Guitar Folk House on JUNE 7, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating. This is an ALL AGES shows in a listening room environment.

Here’s more about the bands …

The Rough & Tumble

“Thrift Store Americana”

“The Rough & Tumble make music that’s progressive folk style, rooted in acoustic bluegrass, with lyrics that are provocative and sensitive on each side as you flip the coin.”
— Americana Highways

The Rough & Tumble, a dynamic duo comprised of Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler, have been captivating audiences with their unique blend of dumpster-folk and thrift store-Americana for over a decade.

The Pennsylvania-born Graham and Central California’s Tyler have a knack for weaving together elements of joy, sorrow, comedy, and drama in their music, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats. Last November they released their record, “Hymns for My Atheist Sister & Her Friends to Sing Along To.”

Flagship Romance

“Your Fav Duo”

Two human beings perfectly in tune with the spirit of the other.
— Americana UK

Flagship Romance is an unforgettable alternative folk duo. They are known for their breathtaking vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting, dynamic live show, and a remarkable on and off-stage chemistry that will leave you with the feeling that you made two new best friends.

Married singers-songwriters Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson effortlessly fuse technical precision in their impeccably tight vocal blend with an invigorating sense of emotional abandon in their energetic live persona. Performing each show as if it could be their last, this duo will have you questioning how their larger-than-life sound can come from just two voices and an acoustic guitar.

What to Expect from the Rough Romance Tour

If you have seen either The Rough & Tumble or Flagship Romance perform live before, then you already know this will *not* be a snooze fest. Both duos will have separate sets. They will perform your favorites and share new music from their latest releases.

The bonus experience? You get a combined set of all four amazing singer-songwriter-performers together on stage.

Here’s what Rick Davidson of MusicFestNews.com said about the two duos on stage together at the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival in Florida this past April.

Since they had played together at times in the past, and are planning a joint tour, we got a real treat with a set of Flagship Romance and The Rough & Tumble combining their voices and songs.

I got a preview of the appropriately titled “Rough Romance” set as they were rehearsing in the campground and knew it would be a special set. Included were  “I’m Not Going to Glory,” “I Met Jesus in Buddha’s Back Yard” and they ended with a slightly retitled Lady Gaga cover of “Bad Romance” (retitled “Rough Romance”).

This combination of great songs, dynamic performers, and special harmonies make their upcoming tour a must-see.

We hope you get to experience ROUGH ROMANCE at the Green Guitar Folk House this summer!
